Premature Infants and their families supported in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Our Approach

We only target hospitals with designated level III or IV NICUs, meaning they treat the most critical premature infants.

The majority of our 150+ volunteer workforce has either been on hospital bed rest or is the parent of a NICU graduate. They are phenomenal volunteers and exceptional resources for HRH families.

Hospital staff identifies eligible patients as families whose baby was born prematurely.

HRH Volunteers deliver NICU Napsacks to families containing items they need to survive their infant’s stay in the NICU. The items we include are not provided by hospitals and ensure a family’s basic needs are met so the parents can focus on the health of their baby.

HRH Volunteers deliver the hope of leaving the hospital with a healthy baby by providing patients with encouraging stories of past HRH babies. We also offer ongoing patient support during and after their baby’s stay in the NICU.

After discharge, patients are encouraged to complete ongoing HRH surveys sharing their baby’s long-term development and health.
